A very impressive site! As of today I am the proud owner of a mint condition 1988 Strat Plus in Lake Placid Blue with Sperzel Locking Tuners and a Wilkinson Split Nut. The original Inspection Tag was in the Tweed Case and is dated Mar 15 1988. It is a beauty! Thanks very much for your great history of the early Strat Plus'.

So...I have a '51 reissue Tele Bass w/Crafted in Japan & a serial # of: S006424. This has to B one of those "odd" serial #'s due to the fact U state that "Crafted in Japan" had only 5 digits following the letter. Does this make sense &/or sound right? U may not contact me for a long time but that's OK. Peace & awesome job on your website!

Hello Jeff,
I'm trying to find out more about the CIJ Fat Strat I recently bought. I was told it was made in 2003, but the serial number does not match up with anything on your chart. So I'm thinking it has to be newer. The number is on back of the lower neck and reads Crafted in Japan. And under that S/N 030407212.
Great job on the website. Lots of great info

Fully understanding that you are a busy guy. I am looking for a positive ID on my guitar. After reading your webpage info I believe this guitar that I have is a Deluxe American Standard. It has Gold Lace Sensors but no locking tuners or roller nut. Serial Number is: E925927. Would that be a reasonable guess?

Sincerely,

Rich
