Xhefri's Guitars Guestbook

I recently bought a beautiful dark brown 1989-1990 Strat Plus with the wood grain showing through. The only other one I have been able to find on the internet with this color is on Artichoke Guitars website. I've seen the Brownburst design, but this is different.

I took it to a local music store for a new back plate and even though the owner seemed fascinated, he seemed to think Fender never offered this design (and was questioning its authenticity). He also said they didn't offer the yellow perloid pickquard at the time either, which I've since seen several photos of.

How do I verify this is a true Fender Strat Plus. No doubt the neck is authentic and it definately requires a pop-in tremelo bar, which was missing when I bought it.

Thanks,

Buddy

I've got a "Made in USA" Strat-strange item-one tone control and Freeflite Trem. Any idea where I could get hold of a snap-on arm for this additty!(to be fair it sounds pretty good)
Also, the nut disitigrated when I tried to check out a few things-never had any reason to bother with it until after 27yrs I decided my tuning/intonation needed looking at! Whoops.
What's best nut to replace this with?
serial number - E324319
Thanks,Ian.

Hi all, a p.s. for yesterdays post, my ultra is crimson burst, excellent condition for year with a superb neck and sound. The only thing of note is that when bridge pick-up is selected, with coil tap in top position, sound is very low. Perhaps this is normal when this single coil is chosen??, as middle and bottom position are ok.

Hi there, I found your page after buying a 1989/90 Strat Ultra, and reading your comments told me just how good a guitar I had:)). I also have Gibson Les Paul Custom, but do not believe this prevents me from saying Hi to Fender owners:))))). Cheers, and thanks for your page, Francis.

He Xhefri, I have an 87 + that I bought in 88. It is a rosewood board Surf Green Strat like the one in the Strat + ad from 1988. I used to have that ad, but it was missplaced and lost many years ago and I'd like to get another copy or a full sized replica copy or that ad. Do you know who or where I might get one? Thanks, Tony.

I am a lucky 1987 STRAT PLUS GRAFITTI YELLOW E4XXXX owner-Superb Guitar. Purchased at Gelb Music in Redwood City. This guitar always stays in tune.
What a funky tone. It emmulates my favorite James Brown scratch funky chord riffs so well through the MESA BOOGIE F-30 AMP. It plays the smooth Bruce Conte (tower of power)lead riffs like "What Is Hip" inro riff to a tee.
