Comments: Hi, I love your site. Great information. I have a 1996 50th Anniversary Strat Plus Ultra. It slept in the closet for many years, but brought her out a few years ago. I do not gig, only home use so she is in great condidtion.
So to my question, about 3 months ago I read that locking the trem would provide a better sound as the trem would be against the guitar body, not floating. So I had tech lock it down.
But I think that the guitar lost some of it's peronality.
I am ready to bring it back to the tech, do you have an opinion on this mod?
Also have you ever replaced the sensor pickups with others, if so which?

Comments: First of all thanks for your site. Fender serial numbers can be confusing at times. I have a Fender bass VI, serial JD 120246597. I've checked a lot of sites but there seems to be no info on these Japanese basses. I've been told it's a re-issue 1962, not a Garage bass Fender put out. any info would be helpful. THX. Jim McRae.
