FYI: I have one of those supposed 400 Deluxe American Stratocasters with lace sensors. Serial number E909628. Never been touched by a Philips screw driver. Green Metal Flake looking but not really sure of the factory name for it. No questions, I am just going to keep this and see if it a true rare guitar. Quasi rare now. Until then, I will keep on playing it. Great information on your site. Take care, Dan

FANTASTIC SITE! Thank you for this! I have a '91 Plus Deluxe (original owner) and your information checks out with all my specs and components. Also stoked to know more about Hector Montes, who did my neck.

THANKS!

Hi Xhefri, Excellent page and detail to follow on the question of where does my guitar fit in terms of age and year. So it an E470114 Stratocaster Deluxe model with a maple neck from 86-88 is the age I was told and a brown burst with three Gold Lace sensors. I let a few players use it for recording over the years locally and I keep it tucked away for now. I love it thank you for such great info!!! They lost money making these apparently was the rumored story way back in 89.

Wonderful site, Xhefri is THE go-to source of knowledge about the fabulous Fender Strat Ultra guitar.
I purchased an antique burst model in the early 90's and 28 years later I'm still enjoying playing and learning about these amazing guitars!

Hello again Xhefri, last year I purchased a 1991 Strat Dlx Ultra. Beautiful instrument, it's got the flame that angles down on top and flame on the bottom. My issue was the stupid Wilkinson roller nut. My '98 I purchased new has the LSR. I didn't think the old roller nut would be a problem but sure enough, my ER 1st side collapsed. So after looking at all the older Ultras with the LSR and adapter installed I bought the part and had Gary Brawer in San Francisco do the repair. Other than the 3 weeks it took to get it back I can't be happier. He also set it up and adjusted the springs. Honestly, I looked at the new Ultra Strat release, I don't think it holds a candle to our older Ultras.
